For many, Summer can be a busy time with travel and expected and unexpected house guest.

The following are some quick, yet intentional cleaning tips using ingredients that you probably already have in your cabinets.

Cleaning with natural products is a safe and eco-friendly way to clean, freshen and maintain a healthy home.

Ingredients like vinegar or lemon juice added to warm water at a 1:1 ratio can help to disinfect countertops, doorknobs and toys without the use of harsh chemicals.

Essential oils like lemon, peppermint and tea tree oils can be effective cleaners as well as great room fresheners when added in small amounts to four (4) tablespoons of R’jenta castile soap and one (1) quart of warm water.

Mix the above ingredients together, pour into a spray bottle and gently shake. Your solution can be used to clean walls, floors, sinks, toilet bowls and countertops.

Discard the leftover solution to avoid spoilage.

Baking soda makes a great scouring powder, carpet freshener and a good carpet stain remover.

Though vinegar, lemon juice, essential oils, baking soda and castile soap are natural, the surfaces cleaned with them will still need to be thoroughly rinsed, especially if you have toddlers, because to them, everything MUST be tasted!

Natural ingredients protect you and your little ones from toxic residues and reduce environmental impact, making your cleaning routine both sustainable and effective.
